Hi!
In textbooks and on the web there are tons of information on carbon-dating, but I can't find any page that explains how scientists figured out that the half-life of carbon-14 is 5730 years in the first place.
I fear that the maths behind it is somewhat complex, but if anyone in here actaully know, I will appreciate an explanation.
