Hi, My father-in-law found this on a beach on the western Isles off Scotland. He was asking me to help him identify it as I have some working knowledge of human anatomy but this is somewhat outside my area. The substantial processes suggest heavy loading and the minimal facet joints would allow a lot of flexability so I was wondering if it might be from the tail of a dolphin or similer. I have no idea of the relative sizing of the vertebrae in these and am only assuming marine from where it was found. Any help would be great. Many thanks
