Today I found a numerous "fish eggs" washed up on Nairn beach, Scotland in amongst and sometimes attached to seaweed, the eggs were individual and clumps. The smallest around 1cm the largest 5 or 6cm. They resembled translucent pebbles, but were soft with a firm exterior and jelly-like if split open. Each egg contained what appears to be an embryo, of a long slender fish. The previous question, 'Large fish eggs of Llanbedrog beach, Gwynedd' offers a very similar description. Can anyone identify these? Photo supplied.
