I have been looking every where for a answer to this question i would like to know how much Vitamin C a adult male lion produce on average in a day.

Peter E Jenner

As far as I can see from the literature, vitamin C is an essential vitamin for big cats just as it is in humans. Therefore lions will synthesise very small amounts.

Irrespective of whether they do or do not require vitamin C, I would have thought it unlikely that a detailed study of levels or synthesis of vitamin C will have been undertaken. To put it another way why would scientists be particularly interested in vitamin C levels in lions - they will get all their requirements from eating herbivores in the wild and in captivity their food will be supplemented accordingly.
