Do women have more ribs than men? (This is not a homework question!)

Believe it or don't.....  women and men have the SAME NUMBER of ribs! (24). The next time you see someone trying to sex a skeleton by counting its ribs, kick them squarely where it hurts. It is generally thought that the idea of rib dimorphism in people is based on the biblical story of Adam and Eve.

I should add that AAB takes no responsibility for any legal action undertaken against people who have followed Darren's advice to the letter.

Still, the man has a point......

Well, Aristole wasn't much better. He maintained men had more teeth than women. Bertrand Russell sums it up:

Aristotle maintained that women have fewer teeth than men; although he was twice married, it never occurred to him to verify this statement by examining his wives' mouths.

However, I do not advocate physical chastisement of classicists.
