i was wondering.... if my husband has green eyes and i have brown eyes what color would my childs eyes be. if my grandpa had grey eyes does that mean i have a gene for grey eyes. if yes does that make a difference of the color of my childs eyes? and if my husband has a british accent but i dont will my child have a british accent?

Hi Jessica,

Eye color is determined by multiple genes so it is hard to predict what eye color your children will have. But generally brown is dominant to green which is dominant to blue. Your grandpa probably had a light shade of blue, so there is a good chance that you also carry some of the alleles for blue eyes, but there is no way to be sure (short of a DNA test). I found this handy little tool online which you may find helpful: http://genetics.thetech.org/online-exhi … ldren-have

Language, including accent, is an (almost) entirely learned behavior (i.e. it is not determined by genes). Your child will have the same accent as whomever he or she learns to speak from. So it will probably be a mixture of British English and whatever you speak (I assume American English).
