I am just starting out schooling, (only my first year in to an Associates in Science). I love biology and have been narrowing my choices down to embryology and genetics - molecular biology. However, I am so very confused with so many choices and biology fields I have no idea where to start. I.e. what classes to take, or what to minor/major in, and where those choices will take me career wise. I have been on google searching for weeks and am getting no where. Please help...I would greatly appreciate it! Maybe some sites to help me research my choices better?! Thank you!
Since you're just starting out I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just read through the descriptions of each class and go with what interests you the most.
It's actually quite early to be making a decision about which sub-field of biology you'd like to study. Some people even make switches much later on in their research careers, at the PhD or even post-doc stage.
If you do a broad range of interesting classes now it'll be easier to develop your interests and then choose a sub-field to specialise in later on.
