ive herd a lot about possible genetic causes for Autism, since starting researching Autism at nine years of age.

i am currantly 15 years old and have a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome which i discovered last august.

what i was wondering is how likely is the cause of Autism an anomaly in a gene ( or maybe even a number of genes) and what are scientists currently doing in this field and have there been any new revelations or theories?

thank you for taking the time to answer this question.

Over the last 2 years there has been an explosion in the number of scientific studies showing links with various changes in genes in the brain and autism. I suggest you start with the links below. To quote the last sentence of the Time article "Overall, the new findings will give autism researchers lots to work with, but, unfortunately, no clear answers yet for people affected by autism."
