Hello. I am currently wrapping up a book on dinosaurs. The book is written in a very casual, conversational style, and I was wondering what the recommended "presentation" of dino names should be. Given the style, is italicizing them recommended? Should I capitalize Allosaurus but leave allosaur (for example) lower case, or given the casual nature of the presentation (conversational tone, much use of slang, "gonna" for "going to", etc.) would simply making all the names lower case ("tyranosuarus rex") be acceptable?

Thank you for your time!

Even in the most casual tone, genus should be capitalized, species not, and both should be italicised.

General terms like 'allosaur' do not get capitalized* or italicized.

*except at the start of sentences, obviously.
