Each year, large quantities of frogspawn in laid in my garden pond. This year, one "deposit" - probably less than 5% of the total - has become white in colour rather than the usual clear jel, although the centre is still black. Is this due to disease, parasitic attack, mutation or what?
Picture attached and have a sample in the freezer!

Hard to say for sure what caused it but basically, if it is turning white then it will be dead/dying.
