I have been working on a health project on vitamins, and have found plenty of information on what purpose they serve. What I have not found is how and where exactly they synthesized with-in the cell (specifically plant cells). Are they proteins, or amino acids? And if so would they not be synthesized in the ribosome(s)? If they are a class on their own, in what organelle are they produced? I have read several college-level, biochemical articles, explaining the chemical reactions, but I have seen none which state where vitamins are made. Thanks in advance!

Have a read of this:
