Meet the experts

I am a zoologist at Big Gecko based in Darwin, Australia. As crocodile specialists we work on a wide variety of management, conservation and research projects on both saltwater and freshwater crocodiles. Much of our management work concerns the perennial problem of ensuring that people and crocodiles get along without incident, and how we can apply our scientific knowledge about crocodiles and population management to solve this. Research-wise, we look into questions about crocodile behaviour, population ecology and occasionally physiology. We also have a 5m long saltwater crocodile called Smaug. He's quite a character.
