Ed works as a learning officer on the Bristol Dinosaur Project ( at the Earth Sciences Department, University of Bristol. In his own time Ed leads bird courses, talks, walks, boat trips and gets involved with bird ringing studies. After graduating from Bristol University in 2001 with a degree in zoology, Ed worked in learning/education for Bristol Zoo, the Recycling Consortium and the RSPB in Bristol. He still does commentary on the Avocet Cruises on the Exe Estuary and occasional freelance work for the charity. Recently, Ed's research work on the diet of urban-dwelling Peregrines has been published in British Birds and BBC Wildlife magazine and had national coverage in the media. Ed is a regular contributor to BBC tv and radio and is currently a reporter for BBC Radio 4's Saving Species . Other exciting adventures recently have included looking for wild wolves in north Spain for Naturetrek, showing people nature on the Somerset Levels and wildlife watching in the Gambia and New Zealand. In his own time Ed enjoys scuba diving, eating out and birdwatching.
