Meet the experts
Here at Ask A Biologist, we have some of the world's foremost experts in every field of biology. From palaeontology to neuroscience, from marine life to mammoths, they're all here. Meet the experts who answer the questions:
I consider myself as a developmental biologist, currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. After my undergraduate degree in biology, I did my Ph.D. with Stéphane Roy, all at l’Université de Montréal in Canada. During my Ph.D., I worked on trying to elucidate how limb regeneration is controlled, at the molecular level, in a Mexican salamander, the axolotl. I have now joined the lab of Paul Martin, in the University of Bristol, to determine how the immune response can influence tissue regeneration in another animal model, the zebrafish. My research career gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about tissue regeneration and molecular biology. I also have general knowledge of amphibian and fish biology and I am very interested with all aspects of research in biology and tissue engineering aiming to enhance wound healing in humans.
In my pastimes I like to watch sci-fi movies and listen to music. I love cooking and like to play tennis, badminton and go out for a run. I also love traveling.
