Meet the experts

I am a PhD student at Barts and the London School of Medicine, Queen Mary, University of London. I did my BSc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry at the University of York. I also spent a year working for GlaxoSmithKline in one of their basic biology R&D units. I’d like to say I’m an immunologist but it’s still quite early in my research career.

My research experience is in molecular and cellular biology. My current work involves looking at mechanisms by which bacteria and viruses interact when they infect human lung epithelial cells that have been exposed to air pollution or cigarette smoke.
