I am a doctoral research biologist, working in ireland or UK. I focus my work on arthropods (insects, spiderlike things, crustacea etc), using molecular biology and computational analyses to understand their huge diversity and success.

Currently, i am looking at regions of DNA involved in environment detection (sight/smell) to understand how sensory systems have evolved in these creatures, and how they have adapted to different lifestyles. I am interested in all arthropods, but specifically the large-tarantula spiders, which lead me to travel the world hunting for new undescribed species.
